The story of the House Of Chanel (Luxury Brand) begins with the birth of Gabrielle Chanel in 1883 Saumur – France. 27 years later in 1910 Gabrielle (now nicknamed ‘COCO’ opened her first boutique which she named Chanel Modes, located at 21 rue Cambon in France. She was published in various magazines during the same year such as the magazine ‘Comœdia Illustré‘.

In 1913 Gabrielle Coco Chanel opened her first boutique in the town of Deauville with a sportswear line which was an instant success.

Two years later, in 1915, inspired by her success, she opened and launched the Chanel Couture House, located in the town of Biarritz, France. This was a turning point for her, as she designed her first couture collection.

From 1918 to 1928, Gabrielle Coco Chanel launched various perfumes such as the inaugural CHANEL N°5 Fragrance in 1921 which marked a significant milestone in the history of perfumery thanks to its feminine scent. Here are a list of the Chanel Fragrances & Perfumes created over the years:

In line with CHANEL’s commitment to excellence and its unwavering dedication to creating products that embody the brand’s values of elegance, Gabrielle Coco Chanel launched her first Jewelry collection named “Bijoux De Diamants” at Faubourg St Honore, in Paris, France.

Gabrielle Chanel introduced a highly acclaimed quilted handbag with a gold chain, which she named the 2.55, after the year of its inception (1955). This utilitarian accessory was designed to provide convenience to its users, as it was equipped with a soft sliding chain that allowed for hands-free carrying. The Chanel 2.55 handbag has since become an iconic fashion statement, synonymous with elegance and sophistication. Its timeless design and practicality have made it a popular choice among fashion enthusiasts and continue to inspire contemporary fashion trends.

1971 was a sad year for the Chanel brand. This year marked the passing away of Gabrielle Coco Chanel on January 10th 1971, at the Ritz Hotel in Paris, France.

1983 was the pivot year for the Chanel Couture line as Karl Lagerfeld was named Artistic Director of CHANEL. He created his first advertising campaign for Chanel in 1987 up to 2019 when he passed away. He refreshed the Cruise collections launched by Gabrielle Coco herself in the past, and introduced newer collections such as the

  1. Métiers d’art and pre-collections,
  2. CHANEL Ready-to-Wear collection.

The creation of Chanel watches began in the year 1987 with the first watch called Chanel Premiere watch. This watch was inspired by the Chanel Perfume No 5 bottle Cap. 3 years later followed the second watch creation called the Mademoiselle Chanel Watch.
